Emergency Department (ED) is an important part of any healthcare system. Congestion in ED results in
lost patients and revenue. Artificial Intelligence (AI) based data analytics helps us understand the drivers
behind the congestion. Explainable AI (XAI), in particular, helps adopt apt interventions as it makes the
underlying diagnostics (root causes) transparent. Amruta Inc presented its XAI work in conjunction with
Mary Washington Healthcare (MWHC) at the 2021 Healthcare Systems Process Improvement (HSPI)
